WSM 2026 Abstract Submissions
Abstract submissions are now invited for the SOBA UK Winter Scientific Meeting 2026, taking place on Friday 4 December 2026 at One Birdcage Walk, London.
We welcome submissions relating to anaesthesia, perioperative medicine and the care of people living with obesity, including clinical practice, quality improvement, research, education, service development and case-based learning.
Selected abstracts will be invited for oral presentation and/or poster presentation at WSM 2026.
Why Submit?
Presenting at WSM26 is an opportunity to share your work with colleagues with a specialist interest in obesity anaesthesia, receive feedback and discussion, develop your presentation experience and add a national scientific meeting presentation to your portfolio.
There are also prizes for the best poster and oral presentations.

Please select the category that best describes your work when submitting your abstract.
Abstract format
Abstracts should be a maximum of 300 words, excluding the title, authors, and references. Please submit your abstract as a Word document (.doc or .docx).
For original research, audit, quality improvement and survey submissions, we recommend the following structure:
Background / Methods / Results / Conclusion
Alternative headings may be used where appropriate for education projects, case reports and other types of submission.
Please ensure that:

Your abstract does not contain information that could identify an individual patient.

All authors have approved the submission.

Any necessary patient consent and local approvals must have been obtained. Please do not submit consent documentation.

One author is identified as the presenting author
Registration and Key dates
There is no fee to submit an abstract.
If your abstract is accepted, at least one author must register for and attend WSM 2026 in person to present the work.

Authors notified: Friday 20th November
WSM 2026: Friday 4th December 2026
